1 lb. of elbow macaroni or small shells

1/2 c. butter plus additional 2 tbsp. of butter
1/2 c. flour
about 3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
salt/pepper
1 lb. of Virginia ham from deli, chopped into small pieces

1. Cook pasta till al dente and drain.

2. Meanwhile, saute ham in 2 tbsp. of butter. Remove ham, and set aside. To pan, add remainder of butter and flour. Whisk till combined.

3. Slowly whisk in milk till there is a smooth and thick consistency.

4. Add pepper and small amount of salt (ham will add saltiness as well).

5. Fold in cheese to melt. Add in ham. Combine with noodles.

6. Pour mixture into casserole dish. Bake in oven for 5 minutes at 350
º
