1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. crushed peppermint candies
1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Blend butter and sugar.
Add 1 egg and crumbled peppermint candies and stir well.
Sift and stir in flour, baking powder and salt.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen cookies.

This is a Christmas cookie staple and so easy to make! I typically add more peppermint (or candy canes during the holidays) and be sure not to crush the candies too small (you don't want just peppermint dust because the chunks will give more flavor).
