2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
12-oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts, optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º

In small bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

In large bowl, combine butter, sugars, and vanilla; beat until creamy. Add in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; then stir in chocolate chips.

Spoon onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375º for 9 - 11 minutes.

Variation: Pan Cookies / Spread into greased 15x10 1/2" pan, and bake 20 - 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
