2 cups oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup hot water
1/2 cup shortening, melted
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine soda and water, then stir in other ingredients and mix well. Roll into walnut size balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.
