1 stick + 4 T. unsalted butter, sut into 1/2 in and melted
1/4 c. dark unsulphured molasses
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 t. baking soda
2 t. ginger
2 t. cinnamon
1/4 t. nutmeg
1/4 t. cloves
14 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine melted butter,
molasses and vanilla. Cool, then add eggs. Sift
remaining dry ingredients together. Add to butter
mixture. Cover and refrigerate until firm (15 minutes).
Put 1/3 c. sugar in bowl. Roll balls of dough in sugar.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet two inches apart.
Bake 10 minutes. Cool 5 min. before removing them to
rack.
