3 c Flour
1 t Baking Soda
1 t Salt
1 t Instant Coffee
1/2 c Butter
1/4 c Shortening
1 c Brown Sugar, packed
1/2 c Granulated Sugar
1 t Vanilla
2 Eggs
1 T Milk
3 T Dark Corn Syrup
12 oz (2 c) Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter and shortening. Gradually add sugars and cream thoroughly.

Mix together vanilla, eggs, milk and corn syrup. Add to the creamed mixture, beating until blended. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing well. Add the chocolate chips.

Form dough into small balls or drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets, spacing well apart. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, or until cookies are golden brown with slightly darker edges. When touched with a fingertip, the cookies should retain a slight dimple but should not collapse. Makes about 4 dozen.

You may add more instant coffee for a stronger mocha flavor. You may also add 1/2 c of pecans, broken.
