1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. vanilla
5 cups puffed wheat

Directions:
1. Grease an 8 x 8 inch square baking pan.
2. Measure 5 cups of puffed wheat into a large bowl.
3. Melt margarine in a medium sized saucepan over med-low heat. Remove from heat.
4. Add corn syrup to saucepan.
5. In a separate bowl, mix white sugar, brown sugar and cocoa. Stir well, then add to the saucepan.
6. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
7. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
8. Pour over puffed wheat. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
9. Press into the greased pan. Cool and cut.

Cooking Tips:
Grease a liquid measuring cup before measuring corn syrup or molasses. It will not stick to the cup and will be easier to remove.

If a recipe calls for a starch product such as cocoa or corn starch, mix it with the sugar that is called for in the recipe before you add them to the liquid ingredients. This will prevent the cocoa or corn starch from forming lumps.
