3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. molasses
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. baking soda dissolved in 4 tbsp. hot water
3 1/4 c. flour
sugar to roll dough in

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar & shortening. Add molasses, salt, spices, & soda dissolved in water. Mix in flour.

Form into walnut-size balls. If dough is chilled for a short time it works better. Dip in sugar. Bake at 375º for 10-15 minutes.
