Finger Paint Recipe

Ingredients: 1 1/2 c. laundry starch 1 qt. boiling water 1 1/2 c. soap flakes 1/2 c. talcum (may be omitted) 1/2 tbsp. poster paint or other coloring

Directions: |
Directions:Mix starch with cold water to form creamy paste. Add boiling water and cook until mixture becomes transparent or glossy looking. Let mixture cool a bit, then add soap flakes, stirring until evenly distributed. Cool again then pour into 8 jars with screw tops. Stir into each jar 1/2 tbsp. poster, powder or easel paint of desired color. May add more powder paint until desired color is obtained.
White oil cloth squares or shelf paper (shiny side) make good surfaces for finger paint experimentation. Left over paint must be covered tightly. ilb
Call in the boys and close your eyes. Old men's shirts make good aprons for the artists. ilb |
