1/3 Cup butter or marg (softened)
1 Cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 Cup milk
grated peel of 1 large lemon (opt. 1 T lemon extract)
1/2 Cup of chopped walnuts or pecans

Topping: Juice of 1 large lemon, 1/3 C sugar.

LEMON NUT TEA BREAD One Loaf Bake @ 350 for 50 Minutes
Cream Together butter/marg (softened) and sugar. Add eggs. Combine together in another bowl: flour, baking powder and salt. Alternate adding milk and dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.Add grated peel of lemon. Fold in walnuts or pecans. Turn in to an oiled loaf pan. After bread has cooled 5 minutes, spoon topping over bread while still in pan.
Do not cut bread for 24 hours.
