2 gallons cucumbers
1 gallon water
2 c salt
1 tsp alum
5 pints vinegar
6 c sugar
1/2 box celery seed
1 ounce cinnamon stick

Directions:
Directions:
Mix first 3 ingredients and let set 8 days. Drain and cover with clear water. On 9th day drain, cover with boiling water and the alum. on 10th day drain, cover with syrup made of 5 pints of vinegar and 6 c sugar, the celery seed and cinnamon stick. Let set for 2 days. On 12th day pour off syrup, heat and add sugar, return to pickles. On 13th and 14th days, add 1 cup of sugar and heat eache day.
