1 cup self rising flour
1 cup self rising cornmeal
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup oil
1 T sugar
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 T brown sugar
1-1/2 cups sweet milk

Directions:
Directions:
Finish mixing all ingredients (except oil) with sweet milk to make a thin batter. Mix well. Melt vegetable oil and grease a black iron corn stick pan (I just purchased a new one from Lodge-they make the best pans).
Bake in corn stick pan at 450º for about 20-25 minutes. Makes 14 sticks.

My mother always made these corn sticks to eat with homemade vegetable soup and other dishes. She really liked these corn sticks better than regular cornbread.
