1 package carrot cake mix
1 can Dole crushed pineapple, drained
2 packages (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp finely grated lemon peel
1 can (20 oz) pineapple chunks, well drained
2 medium bananas, divided
red licorice, optional
sugar candy, optional

Preheat oven 350º
Prepare cake as directed on package, adding crushed pineapple to batter. Pour batter evenly into 2 9 inch round greased pans.
Bake 30-35 min or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool in pans 10 min. Remove cakes onto wire rack, cool completely.
Cut ears and bow tie from 1 cake. cut petal shape from top to bottom on righ side about 1/3 into the center of the cake. Repeat on left.
Arrange whole cake layer on large serving plate with two ears postitioned at top and bow tie placed under face. Brush off loose crumbs; set aside.
Beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, lemon juice and peel in large bowl until smooth and cream. Spread frosting evenly over shaped cake.
Arrange pineapple chunks along outside of ears.
Cut 1 banana in half lengthwise and place next to chunks in each ear.
Cut remaining banana into slices. Arrange remaining chucks and banana slices for eyes and mouth and on the bow tie. licorice strips can be whiskers and sugar candy for nose.
