3 cups sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
2 egg whites room temperature
1 (3 oz.) pkg. fruit flavored gelatin (your choice)
1/2 cup flaked or shredded coconut, optional
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce heat and continue cooking. Stir occasionally until syrup mixture come to a hardball stage on candy thermometer ( 260 degrees). Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add gelatin, beating until mixture forms peaks. Pour hot syrup into mixture slowly streaming it into beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Beat until candy loses its gloss and holds shape. Fold in coconut and nuts. Pour into greased 9" x 9" pan or drop by tsp. onto wax paper.
