For Top Part:
3 egg whites beaten stiff
1/2 c. sugar
For Lower Part:
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks
Juice of one large lemon, grated rind to suit taste
2 Tbsp melted butter
1 1/2 c.milk

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the egg whites stiff and beat with 1/2 c of sugar. Set aside.
In a good sized baking dish, mix the remaining ingredients in the order give. Heating with the egg beater until smooth and creamy.
Fold in the beaten egg whites.
Put the baking dish in a pan filled with hot water (which should not be larger than 1 inch around the dish) and bake in a moderate oven (375º) for 30-40 minutes.
Serve warm or cold with or without whipped cream.
