1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 lb. butter, softened
3 eggs
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
3 slices red candied pineapple (4 oz.)
3 slices green candied pineapple (4 oz.)
1 cup red or green candied cherries (8 oz.)
1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
1 cup dates, chopped
1/2 cup white raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix with chopped fruits and nuts and combine with creamed mixture. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Cook 15 minutes at 325º. When done cookies should be a light brown.

Part of the cookie dough can be frozen for several months and used as needed. Thaw in refrigerator before baking.

Cookies can also be made ahead and frozen.

Makes about 8 dozen cookies.
