1 pkg. devils food cake mix
2 tablespoons oil (1/2 the required amount)
1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
Eggs according to cake mix

Frosting:
1 cup sugar
5 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup milk
6 oz. chocolate bits (1 cup)

Preheat oven to350º.

Grease and flour 13x9 inch baking pan. Combine cake mix, oil, vanilla, eggs and cherry pie filling. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour into pan.

Bake 25-30 minutes.

Combine sugar, butter and milk. Boil stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate bits until smooth and quickly pour over cake.
