1 c dates, chopped
1 c boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp butter
1 c brown sugar, packed
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 c flour
1 egg
1/2 c walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cover dates with boiling water. Add butter and baking soda and let cool. Add dry ingredients. Stir as little as possible. Add egg and walnuts. Bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350ºF
