1 can (17 oz.) applesauce
1 1/3 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter or margarine
2 3/4 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons soda
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1 1/4 cups golden raisins
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup halved candied cherries
1/2 cup candied fruit

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 3 ingredients (applesauce, sugar and butter) in saucepan and boil 5 minutes. Sift flour, soda, all the spices and salt. Add raisins, dates, pecans and fruit. Blend in cooled applesauce mixture. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 275º for about 2 hours.

Batter may be baked in 2 (9x5x3") loaf pans for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
