2 envelopes dry yeast
1 cup hot milk
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs plus 1 egg yolk
1 egg white beaten
1/2 cup warm water
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
7-8 cups flour
1 teaspoon sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Combine warm milk, 1 1/2 cups sugar, butter & salt. Add the eggs and yolk one at a time and beat well after each addition. Mix in yeast and water. Gradually beat in 5 cups flour to make a soft dough. Knead dough on a floured board while adding the remaining flour than knead until smooth, let dough rest for about another 15 minutes. Place dough into a well-greased bowl. Cover lightly and let rise in a warm place for about 2 hours or until double in volume. Punch down and divide dough into half. Shape into two flat cakes about 9 inches. Place in greased 9 inch round baking pans and cover lightly and let rise again until double in size. Brush tops with beaten egg white and sprinkle each loaf with 1/2 teaspoon sugar. Bake at 350 ºF for 30-40 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing.
