Logs:
3 cups flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. rum extract

1 tsp. rum extract
1/2 cup confectioners sugar
2-3 tbsp. evaporated milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Sift together flour and nutmeg. Cream the butter and the sugar, mixing well. Blend in the egg, vanilla extract, and rum extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Shape pieces of the dough on a lightly floured surface into long rolls 1/2" in diameter. Cut into 3" lengths and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º 12 to 15 minutes until light golden brown. While logs are baking, prepare the frosting. Cream the butter, vanilla extract, and rum extract. Blend in the confectioners sugar alternating it with the evaporated milk. Beat well after each addition. When the logs are finished, remove them from the oven and let cool. Spread the frosting on tops and sides of the cookies. Mark frosting with tines from a fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
