2 tsp. butter, softened
3 egg whites
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
10 square 2 in. soda crackers, crushed fine into crumbs
1/2 cup chopped fine pecans
1 qt. washed, stemmed, sliced fresh strawberries
1 c. heavy whipping cream
2 tsp. sugar

Preheat oven to 300 F
Butter a 9 Inch pie plate with the 2 tsp. of softened butter, set aside.
Beat the 3 egg whites until stiff with the 1/2 tsp. of baking powder.
When stiff, gradually beat in the 1 c. of sugar.
Fold in the soda cracker crumbs and pecans.
Spread into the buttered pie plate and bake for 30 min.
When done, cool thoroughly on a rack and then top with the sliced strawberries.
Lastly, whip the heavy cream to soft peaks and gradually add the remaining sugar
Top the strawberries with the cream and serve immediately or store for a few hours in the refridgerator.
This pie is best eaten the day it is made
