2 lbs stew meat, browned
1 qt. stewed tomatoes
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
3-4 carrots, peeled and sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
frozen pea
salt and pepper to taste

Rue-
1 c. flour to 2 c. stew liquid

Directions:
Directions:
Brown the meat in a frying pan or in a pressure cooker. Place in a crockpot; add tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and onions. Add water to cover. Cook for several hours, on low setting, until vegetables and meat are tender.

Make a rue of flour (about 1 c.) or cornstarch with liquid (about 2 c.) from stew. Make sure all the lumps are out. Add it to the stew and cook on high setting until thickened.

Add frozen peas and cook for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve.
