Water
Lard
Garlic
Thyme
Green Pepper
Oil

Directions:
Directions:
Soak a cup of beans, kidney or navy, in water for one hour, Cook the beans in 10 cups of water for 1 hour and 30 minutes adding salt and pepper when the beans are cooked. Drain the beans and save their cooking water in a bowl.
Brown some chopped lard, with spices such as garlic, thyme and green pepper in a pot. Add 3 tablespoons of oil and the beans. Pour in the water that had cooled the beans and if needed add more water to cook the rice. Let the liquid mixture boil before adding 2 cups rice. Cover and let cook on low heat for 30 minutes. (Coconut milk when added to the water will tremendously flavor this recipe.)
