1/2 cup Shortening (or 1 stick of butter)
1 cup sugar
1 cup of mashed bananas( about 2 large or 3 small)
2 eggs (beat eggs and bananas)
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tbsp milk(small amount of vinegar to sour)
2 cups flour(sifted with salt and soda)(4times sifted)
1 cup nuts ( pecans or walnuts)
sprinkle sugar and nutmeg mixture over top ( to taste)

Directions:

cream sugar and shortening
add egg and banana mixture
In a large mixing bowl alternately
add flour mixture with sugar,shortening, egg,and banana mixture
add milk
add nuts
pout into a greased and floured loaf pan
sprinkle sugar and nutmeg on top
bake at 350º for 1 hour
