4 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 cup butter
2 cups buttermilk (add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to regular milk and let sit a few minutes)
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 or 7 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla. Mix 6 cups of flour and the other dry ingredients. Mix slowly and alternately add dry ingredients and buttermilk to creamed mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. If the cookies are too flat, stir in more flour. It may take a few test cookies to get it right.
