4 cups white sugar
1 can evaporated milk
1 stick butter (1/4 cup)
1/8 teaspoon salt
Cook mixture until few drops form hard ball in cold water.
Remove from heat and add:
2 packages semi-sweet chocolate bits
1½ cups nut meats
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 pint marshmallow whip

Beat until mixture looks dry; pour into large, well-oiled fudge pan. Let cool and mark in squares. When cool, break into pieces, wrap in foil and store in refrigerator.

This recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law, Helen Reichard. This picture of her appeared in The Union County Standard-Journal, Lewisburg, PA, along with this recipe. She was the "Cook of the Week" on August 20, 1953.
