2 cups sugar
2½ cups flour
1 cup shortening
1 cup milk
4 eggs
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup ground black walnuts, tightly packed
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, shortening and salt thoroughly. Add eggs and vanilla. Alternate stirring in flour and baking powder and milk. Add walnuts and mix thoroughly. Place in a tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
