Ingredients:
1 dozen eggs
¾ cup sugar
2 quarts milk
1 quart heavy cream
1 pint vanilla ice cream
Ground nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
The day before – separate eggs and beat yolks with sugar until thick and lemony. Stir in milk – chill overnight. Prior to serving: beat egg whites until stiff and fold into the pre-chilled mixture. Whip heavy cream until stiff and place in the bottom of pre-chilled punch bowl. Add pre-chilled milk and egg mixture. Add vanilla and ice cream. The ice cream helps to keep the eggnog cold and adds flavor. Sprinkle nutmeg over the top. This yields 4 quarts. Tip: Heavy cream ought to be a few days old for better whipping.
