Ingredients:
approx. 3 lb. pork & beans – drain excess juice
½ c. ketchup
¼ c. dark Karo syrup
¼ c. brown sugar
1 tsp. Worcestershire

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together in baking dish. Bury an onion in the center or, if preferred, chop an onion into the beans. (If you don’t have dark Karo syrup, double the brown sugar.) Bake 1 hour at 350°, covered 30 min., uncovered 30 min.

Options: 2 tbsp. molasses, 2 tbsp. bacon drippings, minced onion, celery, bell pepper, salt if needed, or red pepper sauce. (I add Frank’s hot sauce – about ½-1 tsp. Gives a good zing without being too spicy.)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
If desired you can cut down on the amount of brown sugar and Karo syrup added.
