1 recipe for single layer pie crust or store bought
½ cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup plus 3 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
6 cups sliced apples such as Granny Smith, Macintosh, Gala or Fuji
½ cup oats
½ cup butter
½ cup chopped pecans
¼ cup caramel topping

Directions:

Place crust in 9 inch pie plate.

In large bowl mix white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, cinnamon & salt. Toss in apples coating well. Pour into pie plate.

Mix brown sugar, ½ cup flour, oats, & butter. Sprinkle over top. Place foil over crust edges to prevent burning.

Bake at 375˚ for 25 minutes then remove foil & continue baking another 25-30 minutes.

Remove from oven, sprinkle with pecans & drizzle with caramel topping.
