12 fresh large clams
1 cup flour
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of nutmeg
2/3 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
2 tsp. melted butter
Cooking Oil

Directions:
Directions:
Grind up clams in a grinder so they are chopped well. Sift together flour pepper, baking powder, and nutmeg in a large bowl. Add milk and eggs, beat until smooth. Fold in butter and chopped clams. Heat oil in a deep fryer (or deep pan) to 375º. Drop by spoonfuls into oil and fry until golden brown. Remove and serve immediately.©

This was one of my grandmother's favorites. She would get fresh goueduck clams from the beach and grind them up on her old meat grinder (the kind that attaches to the bread board).
