Date & Nut filling
2 1/2 c. pitted chopped dates
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c sugar
1 c water
Combine and cook 10 minutes or till mixture is thick. Cool.

Cranberry Nut filling:
1/2 c. finely ground cranberries
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
1 T. grated orange peel
3 T. brown sugar

Cream:
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
Cream & then add dry ingred.
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Roll dough between waxed paper. Spread with filling. Roll up, chill and slice. Bake at 350 º.

I freeze my rolls and cut while frozen. They can be sliced thinner frozen, 1/8-1/4" thick.
