1 lb. Italian Sausage and/or ground beef
1 clove garlic minced (more if you're adventurous)
1 1/2 t. whole basil
1 1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 t. sugar
1 lb can tomatoes
2 cans tomato paste
1 8-10 oz pkg. lasagna noodles
2 eggs
1 1/2 t. chopped parsley
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
3 c. fresh ricotta or cream style cottage cheese
1 lb mozzarella cheese, coarsely grated

Brown meat slowly; spoon off excess fat. Add next 6 ingredients. Simmer uncovered 30 min. stiring occasionally. Cook noodles per directions on box. Beat eggs; add remaining ingredients, except mozzarella. Grate mozzarella reserve 1/2 c. for top. Layer half the noodles in Lasagna pan; spread 1/2 cheese filling; add 1/2 mozzarella and 1/2 meat sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Bake at 375º for 30 min. Let stand 10 min. before serving. I sauce the bottom of the pan before layering.
