1 c. raw rice
1 small onion
1/2 green pepper chopped
2 cloves garlic
1 t. chili powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 c. tomatoes
2 1/2 c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown 1 c. raw rice in shortening in frying pan til amber in color. Add 1 small onion chopped, 1/2 green pepper chopped, 2 cloves garlic cut fine. Stir in 1 t. chile powder, 1 1/2 t salt, 1 c. tomatoes, 2 1/2 c. water. Cover tightly and simmer 30 min. Take top off for it to dry out a little before serving.
DO NOT STIR WHILE COOKING
