1 c. flour
2 T. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. corn meal
2 T. Crisco
1 egg slightly beaten
3/4 c. milk
8 to 10 beef dogs
Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Combine egg and milk; add to cornmeal mixture. Insert skewer into beef dogs and coat with batter. Fry in deep hot fat (375º) until brown (4 to 5 minutes). Serve with catsup or mustard.
