2 c. sugar
1 c. lard or Crisco
1 c. sweet milk
7 c. flour
4 tsp. soda in flour
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. salt

Filling:
3 c. chopped or ground raisins
1 c. sugar
3 c. water
4 T. cornstarch
1/2 T. vanilla
Let this boil, then cool before putting in cookies.

Directions:
Cream sugar, shortening and eggs. Alternate flour and milk. Mix 6 c. flour into dough. Last cup use when rolling. Roll out dough and cut with cutter. Place on cookie sheet, add filling and top with another cookie. Bake at 350 º, about 13 minutes. Makes about 5 1/2 dozen. Do not under bake or they will stay sticky in top center of cookie.
