1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow corn meal
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/4 c soft shortening
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt; stir in cornmeal. Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat till just smooth, about 1 minute. (do not overbeat) Pour into greased 9x9x2 baking pan. Bake at 325º for 20-25 minutes.
