1 c. butter - room temp
2 c. white sugar
4 eggs, room temp
1 tsp each vanilla and almond extract
3/4 c. milk
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 lb coconut
1/2 lb peel
1/2 lb nuts
1 c. candied cherries
1 lb raisins - golden are best

Directions:
Directions:
Set oven a 275º
Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs and extracts. Mix flour and baking powder and salt. Take 1 c. of the flour and mix with the fruit, then mix all together. Add to the butter mix alternately with the milk.
Makes 2 loaves of cake
Cook for 2 &1/2 hours

My mum made this cake for Dad and I for out wedding cake. She iced it with marzipan and there were flowers on it. We loved it for skiing as well.
