6 slices firm white bread
2 packages (8 oz each) sharp process American cheese slices
1 pound small or medium size cooked, peeped, deveined shrimp
8 oz water chestnuts, drained and sliced
½ cup thinly sliced green onions
4 eggs
1½ cups milk
½ tsp dry mustard
½ tsp paprika

Directions:
Remove bread crusts, then cut bread into 1" squares. Also cut cheese in 1" squares. Arrange half of the bread cubes in a single layer on the bottom of a well-buttered shallow 3-quart casserole. Distribute half of the cheese, shrimp, water chestnuts, and onions over the bread. Cover with remaining cheese, shrimp, water chestnuts, and onion.

Beat together the eggs, milk, and mustard. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread; sprinkle with paprika. Cover and chill overnight. Bake, uncovered, in a 350º oven for 1 hour or until top is well browned. Let stand about 15 minutes before serving. Makes 6-8 servings.
