3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. white Karo
1 c. cream
1 T. butter
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Blend sugar and cocoa in a large kettle. Add Karo and cream. Cook to soft ball stage or 238º. Remove from heat and add butter, nuts and vanilla. Cool 20 to 30 minutes or until you can hold your hand on the bottom of the pan. Beat until the candy looses its gloss. Pour in a 1-inch deep mound on a buttered platter. When set, cut into 1-inch squares and store in air tight container.

Mom made fudge starting at a very young age. She recalls winning a blue ribbon at the county fair even though they didn't have any cream. She substituted whole milk and still managed to create a winner!
