4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Using electric mixer, mix butter an cream cheese until very smooth
Add vanilla extract and mix
Slowly add powdered sugar until desired sweetness and thickness

Add food coloring as desired, i.e. blue for Fourth of July cup cakes
Add freshly ground ginger to spice up a carrot cake
Scrapings from a vanilla bean are great for red velvet or dark chocolate
