1 Cup shortening
2 Cups sugar
2 eggs beaten
8 T. buttermilk
5 large ripe bananas

3 1/2 Cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
(add chopped nuts if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs mix in. Mash bananas.
Alternate dry ingredients with buttermilk and bananas until all dry ingredients are mixed in. Do not over mix or you will kill it.

Bake at 350º until knife comes out clean when tested in the center.
It should take about 50 minutes to 1 hour.
