Philadelphia Apple Pie Recipe

Crust:
1 1/2 C. flour
3 Tbls. sugar
1/2 Tsp. salt
1/2 Tsp. cinnamon
1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter
3 - 4 Tbls. apple cider or apple juice

Filling:
6 - 8 tart apples
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 1/4 C. sour cream
3/4 C. sugar
1/2 Tsp. salt
2 Tsp. vanilla
1/4 C. flour

Topping:
1/3 C. Brown Sugar
1/3 C. White sugar
1 Tsp. cinnamon
Dash of salt
1/2 C. Flour
1 C. chopped walnuts
6 Tbls. melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º

Crust:
Sift flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon in bowl.
Cut butter into dry ingredients.
Add just enough apple cider/juice to hold dough together.
Form ball and roll out onto lightly floured surface.
Fit into a 9 or 10-inch pie pan and flute edges.

Filling:
Pare and thinly slice apples.
Mix egg, sour cream, sugar, salt, vanilla and flour in a large bowl until blended.
Add the apples and toss lightly to coat.
Spoon apples into shell.
Bake 10 minutes at 450º
Reduce heat to 350º and bake an additional 35 minutes.

Topping:
Mix together dry ingredients.
Add nuts and melted butter.
When pie has been in oven for 35 minutes, spread topping over the pie and continue baking until golden brown, another 10- 15 minutes or so.
