2 C. all purpose flour
1 C. whole wheat flour
2 Tbls. sugar
4 1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder
3/4 Tsp. Cream of Tartar
1/2 Tsp. Salt
3/4 C. cold butter or margarine
1 Egg
1 C. Cold Milk

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450º

In a bowl, combine the first 6 dry ingredients.
Cut in butter until crumbly.
Combine egg and milk; stir into crumb mixture just until moistened.
Turn onto a floured surface and knead 10 - 15 times.
Roll out to 1-inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter or glass dipped in flour.
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake at 450º for 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown.
