3 oz. dried beef, cut into pieces
1/4 c. bacon grease, butter, or oil
1/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Yield: 4 servings
Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour and pepper. Stir until flour is browned. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Stir in dried beef and simmer on low for 5 minutes. Serve over hot toast, biscuits, potatoes or rice.

Weenie Gravy Variation: Mom used to take drippings from sausage or bacon, put it in the cast iron frying pan and brown cut-up hot dogs. She then made milk gravy and served over homemade buttermilk biscuits-delicious morning, noon or night.
