1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix wet ingredients. Then mix in dry. Chill if you have time (I never do!). Roll out on lightly floured board with rolling pin and cut with cookie cutters into desired shapes. Bake at 400º for 5-12 minutes depending how thick the cookie is. Let it get a little browned on the underside.
