1 1/2 c sugar
1/2 c butter or shortening
2 eggs
3 T cocoa
1/2 c boiling water
2 c flour, sifted 5 times
1 c buttermilk with 2 t baking soda mixed in
1 t vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugar, butter and eggs beat well and set aside. Dissolve cocoa in boiling water and add to above. Add flour alternately with buttermilk mixture. Add vanilla.

Bake at 400º for 40 minutes
