3 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
2/3 cup water
2 cups (1 lb can pumpkin)
1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, soda, salt and cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar in a large bowl.
Make a well in center and add the well mixed oil, eggs, water, pumpkin, nuts and raisins. Blend well to make batter. Pour into 3 well greased and floured loaf pans. Bake at 350º F. for 1 hour or until it until a inserted toothpick comes out dry.Cool slightly in pan then turn onto racks. Bread slices better the second day and freezes very well.
Bread can also be baked in 3 metal one lb. coffee cans.

These make great Christmas gifts. They freeze well.
They also keep fresh at least 2 weeks.This was a favorite for Papa
