2 1/4 cup pastry flour
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
4 tbsp. shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg -beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup finely chopped apple

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients
In another bowl cream shortening and white sugar and then add beaten egg.
Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to cream mixture (that is in your mixer)
Fold in apple.
Grease muffin tins. Fill 3/4 full.
Sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Bake at 425º for 20-25 min
